Zisekese Pays Tribute to Lucius Banda at Mangolongondo Night

A music group called Zisekese impressed music lovers after paying tribute to legendary Malawian musician Soldier Lucius Banda by performing one of his popular songs.

Zisekese performed the love song “Esther”, and the audience responded with loud cheers during the Mangolongondo Night music event held at Haraba Art Gallery and Café. The performance brought back memories of the classic song and showed respect to Lucius Banda’s contribution to Malawian music.

Mangolongondo Night is an event that provides a platform for different musicians to showcase their talent in a relaxed and creative space.



The Friday night event also featured a performance by Goma Nyondo, who added more energy to the show and entertained the crowd.

Zisekese’s performance of “Esther” stood out as one of the highlights of the night, proving that old Malawian songs still connect strongly with audiences when performed with passion.

While several African countries have already unlocked monetization opportunities, Malawi remains behind, raising concerns among local digital creators.
