Sukali praised the role played by Prophet Shepherd Bushiri in supporting film projects and contributing to the development of the industry. He noted that Bushiri’s support helped strengthen the film sector at a time when it needed strong partnerships.

However, Sukali also expressed concern over reports suggesting that Bushiri may be stepping away from the shared vision of uplifting Malawi’s film industry. He said such developments could affect the progress that has been made over the years.

In his statement, Sukali called for open dialogue among all stakeholders, stressing that unity is important for the growth of the film sector.

“FAMA is still developing, and the Malawian film industry needs unity and continued support to thrive,” he said.

Sukali’s message comes at a time when many creatives are calling for stronger collaboration among filmmakers, sponsors, and institutions to ensure sustainable growth of Malawi’s film industry.
