The Hip Hop Movement has shown compassion by donating various items to two elderly women in Mpemba, Blantyre, in an effort to ease the challenges they are facing in their daily lives.

The beneficiaries are Beatrice Grant (92) and Eluby Kampala (76), both of whom are no longer able to move independently. The group said it decided to step in after learning that the two grandmothers were living under difficult conditions.

Speaking during the donation, Hip Hop Movement leader Ishmael Kachali also called IKK said the group felt it was important to visit and support the elderly women.

“We decided to come and visit them. We gave them maize flour, cooking oil, vegetables, and other basic items, and we also spent time with them,” said Kachali.

He added that the gesture was meant not only to provide material support but also to show love and care to vulnerable members of society.

This act of kindness comes just days after the Hip Hop Movement also assisted another elderly woman in Manyowe Township in Blantyre, showing the group’s continued commitment to community support.

The initiative has been praised by many as an example of how youth groups and artists can play a positive role in helping vulnerable people and strengthening community solidarity
